I was at a marketing conference last week and during the networking session someone came up to me and said 'are you the Thomas Johnson from Denver?' I said no im from Seattle and he laughed and said 'me too actually, I thought you might be another one.' We ended up talking for like 20 minutes about the weird experience of having such a common name. Even exchanged LinkedIn (he's ThomasJohnsonMktg, I'm TJohnsonSEA). Anyone else had random meetings with name twins?

This happened to me at my gym! Another Thomas Johnson joined and we kept getting each others messages from the front desk. Eventually we just started working out together sometimes. Hes older than me but we joke that were the gyms Thomas Johnson club.
I love stories like this. I actually collect stories about name coincidences. Theres something special about meeting someone who shares your exact name. Its like meeting a parallel universe version of yourself.

I went to school with three Thomas Johnsons. THREE. In one graduating class of 400 people. We were known as Big Tom, Little Tom, and Red Tom (guess which one had red hair). Still keep in touch with one of them.

late to this thread but i gotta share mine. i was at a doctors office last year and the nurse called out Thomas Johnson and me and another guy both stood up at the same time. we looked at each other and just started laughing. the nurse did NOT think it was funny tho. she made us both show ID before she'd take either of us back. we exchanged numbers after and now we text occasionally, mostly just sending each other memes about having common names. never thought id make a friend in a waiting room but here we are
the doctor's office thing happened to me too!! except neither of us laughed, we just stared at each other in confusion until the nurse read out the date of birth to figure out who was who. not as wholesome as your version lol but at least nobody got the wrong treatment
